Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

medical costs for the child

My Husbands ex-wife put in a show cause because he let the childs medical insurance lapse,

The last time we were in court Judge Thomas found him not guilty in the arrears that he owes because he cannot work and Judge thomas now has two notes saying that my husband cannot work and we are just waiting for disability to kick in.

We now have to back to court 22of march.

can Judge Thomas find him quilty?

Isn't there a law about double Jeopardy that he cannot be found guilty after he has been found not quilty about the same thing he cannot work so he cannotpay arrears and unpaid medical bills?

Re: medical costs for the child

The so-called "Double Jeopardy" which you, apparently, are referring to, applies to matters criminal rather than civil, and prevents a defendant who has been found not guilty of a criminal charge from ever being brought back to trial again on that very same charge.

Child support is a civil matter to which this doctrine of Double Jeopardy does not apply.
