Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Money owed

In 2007, I got a divorce. We were told to sell our house. I was to get 70% and he 30% from the sale of the house. Neither one of us got anything. He took out a loan for $35,000.00 and paid off his debt. I had to sign the papers. I didnt want to but he told me that if i did he would give me money. Never saw anything. Then when I had to sign papers for the realtor, I found out that loan was against the house so he never got anything either because of that loan although he paid his debt off and I am left with debt from being married to him. we have 2 children together and I am not working but I am going to school. I do not have any money for a lawyer. I need someones help. Can I sue him for that money that I feel is owed to me since I felt pressured to sign the papers for that loan and never got anything from it? Again, I have no money whatsoever for a lawyer and didn't even have one when I got a divorce. He did though.

If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, then contact one of the low cost legal aid providers in your area to detemine whether you might qualify for one of their atorneys to assist you with this matter.
