Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
My mother just passed away and my sister and I are beneficiaries of the will. However, the lawyer will not provide us with a copy of the will. How can I obtain a copy? Is this unethical?

Not enough relevant facts to judge the ethics of the matter(in my opinion),
but when the will is filed for probate at the circuit court, you will be able to view it
there and obtain a copy as well.

Send a letter to the lawyer requesting a copy of the will and all filings made as the will goes through probate.If he doesn't respond, complain to the commissioner of accounts office in your local Virginia Circuit Court.
