my ex lives in gates county NC i live in suffolk VA we have joint custody,now she want to move to FL. can she take the kids their??

Your court order for joint custody presumably contains a provision regarding the prior notifications(usually 30 days advance notice) which must be given to the court as well as the other parent prior to any such move.

Your ex must comply with this requirement or risk being found in contempt of court and possibly sanctioned.
