Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Moving - child visitation question

My wifes EX has visitation rights only and she has full custody. We live in VA, but want to move to Colorado due to job offers and have to move quickly. She was divorced in NC (where the paper work on custody was done). He hasn't elected to see his daughter in 3 years; he didnt even call her on her birthday a few weeks back. Shes 14 and doesn't want anything to do with him. Since hes not talking to us or her, do we have to make the effort to tell him we're moving or just let him find out when he does, again its close to 4 years since he bothered seeing her. And if we should tell him whats the worst that can happen if we dont.

Re: Moving - child visitation question

Your wife will need to comply with whatever the N. Carolina custody/visitation orders specify in regard to requiring her to give advance notice to her former husband as well as the court as to this kind of proposed move.
