Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

moving out of state

my daughter is almost 3 years old. I have physical custody. I have a court hearing scheduled. The guardian assigned to her tells me one thing (she feels my daughter should be with me), but then stands with the father in court. They keep rescheduling the date. I live in virginia (with my mother and stepfather--who are moving to missouri) & i want to move to missouri where my whole family lives. the father only takes her half of his every other weekend and pays his support. he does nothing else with her. i have offered 2 weeks every 3 months for visitation (until she starts school-which i would then adjust), which is more than he takes now. he does not want me to go. what can i do to get this matter settled? i feel like my life is on hold and i dont feel like im getting a fair shake with the guardian. the court would not appoint a different one for me. I have a lawyer, but he seems to not want to rock any boats and doesnt feel like we are being treated fairly by the guardian.

Re: moving out of state

You should probably get another lawyer who is willing to "take on" this apparently "two faced" G.A.L., and to advocate your position, if it is reasonable within the applicable law and facts of the case and irrespective of whether it may conflict with that of the guardian ad litem.
