Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Notice of moving

If I moved did I need to let my ex and the court know in advance? I have moved one county over and one thing I have read says that I needed to give 30 day advance written notice another I have read says that as long as its 30 days after the move so which is correct? And if I was suppose to do it before but waited until after can I get in trouble for it? Also if I need to file a motion for something would I do it in the new county or file it where the current order is in the old county?

Re: Notice of moving

Yes, 30 days advance written notice to all concerned, is the normal requirement in such cases, and if that's what your order requires, then

you had better hop to it and get it done, irrespective of whatever consequences might occur for your seemingly inexcusable delay in complying with your court order.
