is a notorized letter from a parent or legal guardian designating a relative (ex. grandma) to consent to treatment of a child in the parents absence acceptable in the state of virginia.

Would seem to more likely depend upon the medical provider who might

be asked to provide the referenced treatment based upon such a document rather than whether this notarized letter might meet some generalized form of acceptance in the Commonwealth which as far as I am aware has no particular recognized nonjudicial form of conveyance for such authority.

In other words, some might accept it but others might not (in my opinion).
