Who owns the vehicle if it was a gift to one person, but both names of an unmarried couple are on the title? They are splitting up.

The title tells the tale. It takes both signatures to convey the vehicle to another person, or to one of the present owners. Equity would suggest that if the gift was intended for one of the couple, the other person should make that happen, but the title still prevails.
