parental rights

im a divorced mother of 2 boys ages 4 and 7. my ex husband hasnt seen the boys in 2 1/2 years and owes 10,000 in back child support. i have full custody.he has numerous dui charges , assault etc record in the past 5 years . also protective orders was issued for like 2 years. i want to terminate his parental rights. what chance do i have of winning and what steps do i need to take. thank you

Better see an attorney about this who has experience with adoptions in the Commonwealth, but

unless there is a step-parent available in the near future of these children who would be ready, willing and able to step into the shoes of their biological father(small that those shoes may be, metaphorically speaking), it's unlikely that a

Virginia court would be willing to terminate this father's parental rights based merely upon the evidence which you've offered here in your question without something substantially more serious related to his fitness to parent(in my opinion).
