parental rights

My ex husband wants to sign his parental rights over to me..Would he still be responsible for paying child support?

No, your former husband would be responsible for having to continue to pay child support for the child involved, which is one reason why no Virginia judge would allow him to unilaterally terminate his parental rights and responsibility for this child---unless there was a step-parent available to adopt this child in his stead. (Furthermore, a parent cannot legally "sign over his or her parental rights" simply by signing a piece of paper making this particular claim. Only a court of proper jurisdiction is empowered to make this kind of decision.)
