Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Paternity

I had a child with a married women, I am also married. The child was born in Virginia. The women and her husband wanted to have the child and for me to stay out of their life. I agreed to their demand. My name is not on the birth certificate. Is there a way later in life that they can sue me for support, back support or anything else for that matter?

Re: Paternity

Yes. Unless and until the mother's husband adopts the child, and your parental rights are terminated, you remain potentially on the hook.

I suggest you contact a family law practitioner in Virginia to discuss the pros and cons of the limited options you have in this situation.
