Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I pay court ordered child support monthly. The children are now 17 years old. Must I continue the visitation as defined in the divorce settlement? The children would prefer to stay at home and "hang out" with their friends and attend their school events on the weekends. Their mother insists that they come to my house. This has caused the children to be resentful and angry at times. We live in the same city, but I am about 40 minutes away from their neighborhood. I would like to see them when they call instead of the rigid schedule of every other weekend. I followed the schedule when they were "kids", but they are growing up now.
