Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

How much does he pay?

My X husband to be and I can not agree to a dollar admount of child support. He wants to pay very little. He hasn't paid me but three times a small admonut of money. He is re marring and makes 4 times the money I do. She has a income better then mine also plus owns her own home.

If I leave the dollar admount up to the judge what is the percentage he will take from the X's income????? I make very little money and our daughter will be in high school this year. She will want things I will not beable to afford with out child support...

Thank you, ML

Re: How much does he pay?

If the issue of child support is being decided in Virginia, the judge will most likely follow

the recommendation of the Virginia Child Support

Guidelines in setting the amount, which take into consideration the income of both parents and certain expenses of the custodial parent(you)such as daycare. The income of the other non-liable spouse, however, is not considered in any of the

calculations.
