Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I'm not asking my this for me, but for someone else. This person is 17 years old, and had court today for a minor probation violation, nothing big, but he got 5 days in detention, and is supposed to be released Sunday. My question is, would he have to have a detention hearing? If so when would that take place? The day of his actual court date(today)?Or while he's in there for 5 days? Or after he's been released? Everything would help

No, a detention hearing in these circumstances is unlikely if this juvenile offender has

already been sentenced to five days and is now serving his sentence (my opinion).
