Personal coversation between husband and wife

My husband and I are separated, not by my choice, but I emailed him and said some unpleasant things about the woman he is living with. She is trying to use these against me in court, is this legal?

In court, for what? Defamation, meaning libel, custody of children, or something else? Whatever, it is, however, it is unlikely to get anywhere on the basis of a few accusatory emails either from you--or anyone else, for that matter.
