Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I am planning to have a incompetent witness to appear in court partly concerning a matter of marriage and separation. Because the witness is incompetent and not be able to qualify to testify in his behalf, is it in my best interest to obtain from public record his marriage and separation records .I will also will like to know if the answers to the above question coming from a lawyer

You're calling an "incompetent witness" to appear

in your case, you claim? For what purpose and why is s/he considered

incompetent from your perspective?

In a legal sense, incompetent/incompetence is quite a narrowly defined term, applicable to persons in particular situations, and one would not normally be seeking to have such a person so characterized take the stand to testify in his behalf to anything or for any reason whatsoever.
