The possiblity of a father getting overnights at girlfriends house?

Father just got back from Iraq. He has been legally separated for over a year and half. Now he is filing for divorce. But since he just finally paid off all debt from marriage, he cannot afford a place for him and four year old daughter. His Girlfriend lives with her parents in a very nice neighborhood. Here he has his own room, and can afford the rent; also daughter would also have her own room. What is the possibility of the court granting overnight stays until he can save up enough money to move in his own place?
