Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Can I postpone a pendente lite hearing given I misunderstood my attorney in terms of my dates of availibity and I have to be at a mandotory board meeting for work in another state at that time? (my attorney has already set the date with opposing counsel)? Further, I would very much liketo postpone the hearing given we are filing a motion to compel and it may not be heard or be effective by the pendent lite hearing and I have nothing to go by in terms of her financials and she has all of mine.

So, ask your attorney (whom you've employed and presumably paid a goodly dollar or so for his or her services) to motion the court for a new hearing date that will be more accommodating to your personal schedule.

(No apologies necessary.)
