Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Pregnant, unmarried, want to move out of state

I am 3 months pregnant, and have realized I do not want to be with the father of the baby. In fact, I would like to move back home closer to my family, and also to the man who wants to marry me and adopt/raise the child. What kind of rights do I have to move to another state before I give birth, and what is the process to take for my future new partner to adopt the child? What steps should I take? I am living in VA (moved here 4 months ago), and I would like to move back to IL.

Re: Pregnant, unmarried, want to move out of state

You can move anytime; no special permission required from anyone. After you marry your intended and the child is born, you could consider a step-parent adoption in whatever state you may be residing in.
