Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Prescription For Disaster

This morning, I was advised by a physician that I am going to need a 'real good lawyer.' Through Legal Guru, this could be possible or at least some real good answers.

My significant other requested that his prescription be dropped off at a pharmacy to be refilled this past weekend. I agreed and dropped off his prescription. Other than that, I have been given no additional info about the prescription.

At the time that I dropped it off, I realized that the pharmacist would call the physician for his advice. If it was not time to fill the prescription, it would more than likly be ready at future date which would be decided upon by the physician.

This morning, the physician called ranting and saying that I had ''no authority'' to do that. I believe that I do have the authority to drop off a prescription at the request of someone, leave my own name and telephone number and ask that the pharmacist call the physician.

Are there any actions that I should take following the threat that this physian has made this morning?

Re: Prescription For Disaster

No, I would think not as the physician was likely just venting against you for some reason (unnecessarily), and blathering in a manner which some might characterize as "blowin' smoke".

Re: Prescription For Disaster

While this sounds a bit silly, you might consult an attorney if you are concerned about this. Query whether there could be a HIPPA violation at some point.
