Private Investigator in Child Custody Case

Private investigator has license in Va but his company does not. Va dept of criminal justice requires both to have license. Is his testimony still admissable in child custody case? Can the subject of his investigation bring charges against him?

Admissibility of testimonial evidence would be up to the judge presiding over the matter.
