Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

property settlement agreement

I signed a property settlement agreement with my spouse in June 2007. I have been trying to work out some things with her that I don't believe were in the agreement I read before signing. The agreement that I read a week prior to signing was supposed to be the same one I signed. Turns out the one I signed said alimony for life and disability added back in for division on my military pay. The day I signed it I had been drinking and had quite a bit to drink, I met her at the notary and we signed it. I just realized in Jan 2008 that it was different when someone pointed it out to me. Do I have any recourse? We have not been to court at all yet. The agreement was stamped as filed by clerk but she won't budge on anything. I know that I probably can't prove this document was different but I feel I was impaired when I signed it. I am soon to be out of the military after 22 years and she won't change a thing. Do I have a chance in court?

Re: property settlement agreement

You can likely do nothing about this on your own; with a lawyer, maybe.
