Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

i have a PSA drawn up. Do i have to have a lawyer to file for a divorce? if not how do i go about getting one.

No, you do not have to have a lawyer to get a divorce in the Commonwealth.

There is a packet of forms with instructions on how to represent yourself

pro se (without an attorney) in a divorce which you can pick up from the clerk's office of some circuit courts or download from their websites.

Nevertheless, I would seriously suggest that if at all possible, you at least

arrange for a consultation with an attorney who is knowledgeable and experienced regarding divorce matters in Virginia before you proceed ahead on your own.
