Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Recording Phone Conversations

My daughter is with her father 5 weeks every summer and for 1 week everyother christmas. Can I legally record phone conversations between me and my daughter when I call her and am able to talk to her?

Can a 7 year old give her consent to record phone conversations between her and her father? My divorce papers say that ''I'' can not record conversations between him and her.

Can I record phone conversations between me and my ex husband?

Re: Recording Phone Conversations

You may record conversations with your daughter, but you may not record them with your husband without his permission.

Your daughter is too young to give consent to the recordings you mention. I caution you not to seek to circumvent the judge's order. That might result in severe consequences for you personally and for your status as legal guardian.
