Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Reducing child support

I lost my job last September and it's been a very slow process getting back to the income level I was at. I worked for a large company and am now self employed, in the insurance field. My income has been cut from appx $45,000 down to about $10,000. What can I do to get my child support payments reduced?

Re: Reducing child support

File a motion with the court having jurisdiction over your child support matter, based upon a material change in your circumstances, i.e., a very substantial reduction in your gross income.
