Refinance & quit claim deed

My spouse wants to refinance the house through FHA loan but says I must sign a quit claim deed to do this. Is this correct?

If you sign a quit claim deed to her alone, rather than the two of you, she will be the only owner of the property; if you also sign on the note for the refinance, you will be equally responsible for the loan and you will have no ownership of the house.
