Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
Re-marriage after divorce
In Virginia, is there a grace period after a divorce is final in which one could re-marry? i.e. Could someone get married to another person the same day that their divorce papers were signed?

You could get married after the order is entered, however, the other side has 21 days to appeal and the matter could be reheard within 30 days.

No, the divorce is "put to bed", so to speak, for a period of 21 days or so, after which it is considered legally finalized and the parties are then free to marry.
