Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Must I reveal my employer's identity?

I am in the process of obtaining a divorce in VA. My wife is trying to do many things that will cause me pain and suffering in all areas of my life; including my employment.

I just got a new job in a new (to me) VA community. Already, my wife has my children ''pumping'' me for information about where I am living, who I work for, where they are located, etc.

As long as I am meeting my child support obligations, can she legally insist that I divulge that information to the court and her attorneys? I am extremely concerned that she may try to contact my new employer and tell them things (which are untrue) in an effort to get me fired.

I need an answer to this EXTREMELY URGENTLY! We have a court hearing tomorrow afternoon (9/20) at 3 p.m. and I need to know this before that hearing.

Thank you, and I hope you can help me with this.

The Virginia Code requires the name, address and phone number of the employer be provided, along with your address and phone number. Suggest you ask the court this afternoon to order her not to contact your employer except for purposes of settng up support wage withholding, which is also required by the Code unless the parties and the Court agree otherwise.
