Reverse Adoption
Can an adoption be revoked,reversed by parents of an adopted child that is now an adult?

I suppose it depends upon whether the "parent" is trying to revoke the "child's" name which is presumably that of the adopted parent. The name became the property of the "child". Of course the parent could write a will disinheriting the adult child and remove adult child as beneficiary of any contracts controlled by the parent.

The Virginia adoption statute allows 180 days
after entry of the final order for parties to
the adoption proceeding to contest this order---
afterwhich it is irreversible.
