Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Does anyone know anything about the rights of Foster Parents? My daughter and her husband, in Va. had a foster son for 3 years and 2 months. ( He is only 4 years old) & social services told them they could adopt, which they were preparing to do. Then up came this aunt in N.J. whom no one knew of & the judge sent the child there. They had two layers representing them and we were led to believe we would win and the child could stay in our family. We are devastated and heartbroken. They have filed an appeal but do not have another lawyer yet. How much chance would they have at winning an appeal? Now what must we do?

They will need to hire at least one lawyer to pursue their appeal of the lower

court's decision. I would not, however, rate their chances of success very

high of winning their appeal at this point.
