my rights as a grandparent
My daugther in law will not bring my granddaughter to my home she has only been here twice and shes now 2 years old. they only live 40 minutes away. i hardly ever get to go to their house. its been 2 months since i've seen my grand child. my son will not step up and say anything to his wife. i don't know why i have tried to talk to my son about how its not fair that his wife is being like this especially for now reason at all. so i was wondering could i sue for visitation rights to my grand child?

Yes, grandparents are recognized in the Code of Virginia as persons with what's termed a "legitimate interest" in matters of child custody and visitation. See Va. Code Sec. 20-124.2.
You could therefore sue in the appropriate J&DRDC (Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court)for visitation rights with your granddaughter.
