Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
What are my rights?
I was married in 1990. I separated from but did not divorce my husband. He left VA and married another woman in KY. I have heard from his family that he he ''divorced'' her in CO earlier this year. I heard that they had a child, house and cars. Far as I know, the other woman does not know that I was still married to him. He is supposed to pay us both child support. He is not paying court ordered child support to me and owes back support of over $20,000. I need to know what if he will be considered a bigamist and how will that affect my case and anything he owns with the other woman.

Re: What are my rights?
Whether or not your husband would or should be considered a bigamist (and prosecuted as such) is a matter for the courts.
Your focus should be on his child support obligation which he, apparently, is not paying,
and, therefore, you should either be retaining your own attorney to enforce this obligation or,
if you cannot afford to hire such, to engage the service of the State 1V-D Child Support Enforcement Agency in your state to handle the matter.
