Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
rights to protect sister and her unborn baby from her boyfriend
My sister has recently become pregnant but her live in boyfriend claims she did it to trap him. She has been upfront with him about wanting a child and even told him that she needed to go off the pill because her obgyn advised her to do so.(vaginal problems). I am concerned b/c he makes demeaning comments, refuses to marry her and is trying to increase her anxiety level to either force a miscarriage or to get her to abort the baby. What rights do her siblings and parents have to get her out of this situation for her own wellbeing and most importantly for her baby?

Re: rights to protect sister and her unborn baby from her boyfriend
Since your sister is, presumably, an adult, over age of 21 years, with at least average intelligence, she, and not her siblings or parents, is responsible for her well being and that of her developing fetus.
Neither siblings nor parents have any right to force her to leave her situation (if that's what you're considering)against her will or without her consent.
