Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

what are my rights

What are my rights after receiving a ''petition for enforcement of foreign order'' in which I am the respondent living in a different state and the petitioner is seeking full custodial rights as modification to an existing order which awarded joint custody?

Re: what are my rights

You certainly should be able to contest the petition to enforce the order in the other state but you would be well advised to consult with a attorney knowledgeable regarding family law matters in the state where you now reside.

This person will be able to advise you as to your rights and the time frames in which you

must take action in order to protect those rights.
