Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Seeking custody of my 4 year old son.

Hi,

I live in VA my son was born in MI, we moved to VA when he was about 6mths old since then I have had hear and there communication with his father/his family, but haven't been receiving/I do not want to get child support I really just want full custody of my son, I haven't received anything from him/his family, no contact never married his name isn't on the birth certificate what do I need to do in order to get this taken care of? Who do I contact? I really would like to get this started as soon as possible as well and would appreciate any advice.

As the natural parent(mother) and current care provider to your four year old son, the law already presumes that you have the right to full custody until a court of proper jurisdiction rules otherwise. There is nothing that you are now currently required to do to establish your right to full custody of this child as you already have it.
