Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Im separated for my husband we have a car the we got together im the buyer and he is the co-buyer. He refuses to make payments on the car and feels that I have no legal right to say or do anything. My concern is that he is on probation in another state Pennsylvania for DUI he continues to drive under the influence and he is currently staying in _Philadelphia, PA with the car. I gave him to option 1. to give the car back to me so i can make payments 2. have it refinance out of my name. so I will have no more legal rights to the car. He refuses to do either. Is there anything I can do to protect my credit but most of protect me before something happen while he is driving under the influence.

No, I don't see anything that you could do under these circumstances until you file for divorce with your husband submitting to the jurisdiction of Virginia courts for the purpose of making dispositions of marital property connected with the dissolution of the marriage.

(If he were to return to Virginia either you or a repo man that you hire could sieze the vehicle and return it to your custody and control since you are also an owner of the vehicle.)
