seperation

I have left my husband and we have two kids the kids are in northern virginia with my mother until I move up there from williamsburg next week. My husband is not letting me get my things and the babies things from the apartment my name is not on the lease. How can I get my things.

You might want to go to the property management office and explain matters to them and see whether they'll let you into the unit to retrieve the property which belong to you. (If they refuse, it will likely be due to their fear that you might take things to which your husband may have a claim.)

If your unable to gain entrance to the apartment to retrieve your property, your remaining remedy is to go to the clerk's office of the general district court in the city or county where the property is located and tell the clerk that you want to file what's called a warrant in detinue against your husband in order to retrieve property which lawfully belongs to you and which is being wrongfully withheld from you by him.
