Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

My sister is going through an ugly situation right now with her ex and she was suppose to pay over 3000.00 for fees for attornies of his...she was not able to pay it and now he wants her to go to jail for not paying...will she go to jail..not having any prior arrest or bad stuff or will it be suspended and the judge just make her pay him what she can each month? She barely makes enough for her and her son to get by with...please help!!

No, it's unlikely that she'll go to jail for contempt, but she will have to be credible in arguing to the judge whatever her extenuating circumstances might be for not paying these fees.
