Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

i was without sleep due to i am very sick and my husband had already moved out but i was getting pressured by my family to make him pay or they will. they hounded me for two to three days about it i was tirred and not thinking clearly and charged him with assalt but i need to drop the charges they say i cant what do i do

Call up the prosecutor's office and ask to explain to the one assigned to your case that you weren't thinking clearly due to illness when you requested that your husband be charged with assault and battery, and, consequently, that you don't feel that you would make a very credible witness for the Commonwealth if the case were to go to trial.
