Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia
I have sole custody of 2 children 8 & 5, there is only a visitation order for the 8 year old. There is a child support order for both children that has an arrearage of $11,500+. Now after 5 years he wants to have visitation with the 5 year old, that does not know him, never spent more than 2 hours his whole life with him. I have offered along with other member for him to meet and get to know the 5 year old and he either does not show, or doesn't call. He has petitioned the court before for visitation and he was a no-show and the judge dismissed the case. The father calls maybe once every 3-4 months. Now he is threatening to take me to court for visitation. The 8 years goes to his mother's ( grandmother) the 4th weekend of the month. He does not come to visit, call, show for birthdays, he is bbasically does not exist execpt for the weekend visitation.
LLegally what are my options regarding visitation.

If the father petitions for visitation with the five year old and appears for
the scheduled hearing on the matter, the judge will very likely
grant the requested visitation (as being in the child's best interests).
However, if the father fails to show up for the hearing, the case will
most likely end up with the same disposition as before(dismissal).
