Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

From sole custody to possible joint

I have sole legal & physical custody of my daughter. Her father wants joint, but he lives with his mother who is a heroine addict and his drug on choice on a daily basis is marijuana. Also he has an assault charge against him, so I was wondering what are the chances of him getting joint custody?

His chances of obtaining joint custody, under the circumstances which you have described are zero, provided that the adverse evidence against him which you have described is properly presented before the court which is properly empowered to decide this matter.
