Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I have sole custody of my 21month old son. His father and I were never married. The father has supervised visitation with the maternal grandfather under my discretion. The father has not seen the child in 5 months. My question is can I relocate to another state? It does not state in the custody papers about any kind of relocation

Yes, but sometimes best to do it by agreement or court order.

It is surprising that their is nothing mentioned in prior order. There is normally wording by statute put in the order stating you must give he and the court notice of relocation. Best of luck. Web: www.sherylshanelaw.com. Attorney Sheryl Shane.
