Sole Custody in VA

ok i pettition the court for custody of my 8 month old son ok my childs father and I go to court next week i would like sole custody of our son and he can have visitation every other weekend he told me no hes not gonna agree to that he wants joint custody and he wants him every thurs-sun now prior to me fillin the paper he saw his son twice and after 4 times he wont see him unless i meet him he refuses to come here to pick him up i dont have a problem if he wants to see his son every week but i would like our son to live with me and i think him wanting him every weekend is unreal i dont think it is very fair and i would like our son on so weekends also so what are my chances of getting sole custody

Since few (if any) relevant facts bearing on the issue of your fitness as a parent to have sole custody of the subject child nor whether such custody would be in the best interests of this child have been provided in your question, it would be difficult to say, one way or the other(in my opinion).
