Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I have sole legal and physical custody of my daughter, who is 4 years old. I want to get a guardianship will done in case something were to happen to me. Is it possible for me to give guardianship to my mother, who has helped me raise my daughter, instead of her father? And also, would he be able to fight that in court?

Yes, you could put that provision in your will, but the child's father could likely

contest its implementation(if such were ever attempted).
