Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

my son is 14 /15 in january

his mom hammered me in court in 2001 because i didnt have an attorney and her family paid for expensive lawyer

she was awarded full custody and i was givin sunday visitations

she moved and never forwarded her address or number and nobody would help me find her

i NOW have found my son on facebook and she has "allowed " me to see him for the past few weekends he has made me aware that he was hit and drugs which i handed in video tape to police etc.

i filed for custody but my son is begging me not to return him to his house.

can i get in trouble if i dont return him and what would be the process?

thanks if you can help

Assuming that there is still a valid order awarding custody of your son to "his mom", yes, you could get in trouble (maybe even "hammered") by violating the current order in not returning your son to his mother's custody.

Also, you would be well advised to hire an attorney this time around (rather than attempting to handle the custody petition yourself "on the cheap", so to speak).
