my son's father is willing to sign over his parental right so my husband can adopt him. what i need to know is can i type something up on the computer and have him sign it in front of a noteary is legal and can be used when my husband adopts my son next year with our tax return.

No, I would not go down that route, i.e., "type something up on the computer".

Far better for you to arrange for a consultation with an attorney who handles

adoption matters in the court in which this adoption will occur to determine

exactly what kind of document terminating the biological father's parental rights that this court is likely to find acceptable.
