Re: spoual support

When that someone has been married to someone else for quite a few years and then the two spouses separate or divorce and the former spouse has few assets or skills and, perhaps, minimal education or training with which to earn a living compared to the other spouse, if that person petitions the court for alimony(spousal support), the court will often award this kind of support, usually for a limited period of time, running, perhaps, five to ten years but with immediate termination of the spousal support in the event of that person's remarriage.
