Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Spousal Finances

My spouse charged over $20,000 on credit cards, unaware to me.

How can I prevent this happening again?

We are getting a home loan to pay these old ones.

The marriage future is unknown right now for obvious reasons.

Re: Spousal Finances

You should have no credit cards jointly held with your husband nor any cards of your own for which your husband is an authorized user under your account.

Any such cards which now exist and which fit the above description should be summarily destroyed. You can then request a reissuance of those credit cards which only you would be authorized to use.
