Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

Spousal Support

If my court ordered Spousal Support was based on the fact that my spouse needed the money for Medical and Fuel expenses, can I ask the court to order her to give me reciepts based on the Medical and Fuel expenses so that I can have those for personal tax purposes?

Re: Spousal Support

You can very likely still claim the deduction without having such receipts, and your cancelled checks(or microfilmed copies) should be quite sufficient proof that you've paid the court ordered spousal support and thereby qualify for the deduction.
